Safety features 


  • SPT tool/equipment does not use any hazardous materials (chemical, thermal, radiological, etc).

  • Perforator is designed so stiffness ribs did not scratch the casing. Perforator does not burrow into the sand completely. If accidentally lowering the SPT tool on an obstruction, sand, rock, anyway remaines the possibility for reverse and direct flushing.

  • Hydraulic unit is a closed sealed self-regulating (self-adaptive variable volume chamber) system to prevent explosion under the action of hydrostatic pressure in a water-filled borehole.

  • Working rod with the perforatorand cutting nozzles starts to move at a pressure of 800 psi (5.5 MPa). Maximum pressure of the hydraulic fluid is 6500 psi (45 MPa) (taking into account losses in the pipes).

  • In case of accidental uncontrolled increase overpres-sure control oil flow valve in the hydraulic unit snap on, and working rod will stops moving.

  • In case decrease pressure drops below 800 psi, or pressure is cut (at the end of cutting operation), working rod with perforator and cutting nozzles will be immediately recharged (set-up) into starting (initial) position, and will be ready for use again (on the next cutting interval, for example).

  • Main spring in the return unit in no operative in a free state. Return unit closes (turns sealed) in working condition only. Main spring is limited by special washers and nuts on the rod. In addition returning unit is limited by protective cover from the perforator side. If even the main spring breaks during the slotting perforation process, the rod with perforator is still recharged (set-up) to the starting (initial) position.

  • In case If perforator will break (even with a base spring rod), the spring will not pop out from the return block, and will hold it by the bottom protective cover.

  • Speed and depth of cutting slots are controlled by pressure, temperature and density of the working solution (the concentration of abrasive filler in working solution).
